6 tips on how to protect yourself from the summer sun!
Here comes the sun!
… And with it often also pigment spots. How do you get rid of them and how do you prevent them from even arising?
Here are 6 tips on how to sunbathe safely this summer and how to prevent pigmentation / brown spots:
1. Vitamin C in your skincare routine
As an effect of sun exposure, many people get problems with brown spots / pigment spots. Products with vitamin c can help both get rid of stains and at the same time prevent new ones.
What can vitamin C do for the skin?
- Prevent oxidative damage from eg the sun's rays
- Even out skin tone
- Pale brown spots / pigmentation / scars
- Give a clearer skin with luster
- Reduce fine lines
- Increase the firmness of the skin
How does it work?
Vitamin C is an antioxidant that neutralizes free radicals from eg UV radiation, which in turn prevents hyperpigmentation / brown spots. Vitamin C also promotes the production of collagen and elastin which in turn generates new skin and thus speeds up skin renewal = lots of glow !!!!
Klairs Freshly Juiced Vitamin C Serum and By Wishtrend Pure Vitamin C 21.5 Advanced Serum both prevent the appearance of hyperpigmentation and help to whiten blemishes if the damage has already been done! In addition, they give an even skin tone, increase skin firmness and reduce fine lines. If you have sensitive skin, I recommend clairs that have 5% vitamin C, otherwise it is excellent to use by wishtrends variant that has as much as 21.5% vitamin c. Important! When using vitamin C in your skin care, it is important to have a sun protection factor every day and preferably a hat or cap. This is because vitamin c helps to produce new skin that is extra sensitive to the sun's rays.

2. Reapply SPF often, properly!
Every two hours is usually the usual recommendation, but keep in mind that when you sweat, bathe and dry yourself, the sunscreen disappears faster. It is therefore important to reapply often and abundantly in the sun's warm rays. If you have pigment spots, a hot tip is also to always wear a hat or cap and not expose your face to direct sunlight (as long as the sun is up in the sky and even when it is cloudy)
3. Avoid staying in the sun when it is at its highest
When the sun shines the strongest (11.00 - 15.00) it also does the most damage. Therefore, be extra careful when exposing your skin to sunlight during this time. The sun protection with and the beach hat on!
4. Do not forget hands, neck and décolleté
These areas are easy to forget, even though they are extra sensitive. This is usually where you first see signs of age, so do not forget to give these areas a little extra love!
Your daily dose of vitamin D is obtained by being in the sun for about 20 minutes a day. So sunbathe gently!
5. Use combined products
A flexible solution to always protect the skin from the sun is to use basic makeup that contains sun protection factor in the form of a bb cream. For a lighter coverage with luster, we recommend Klairs lluminating Supple Blemish Cream, a best-selling BB cream that easily sinks into the skin and also contains both sun protection factor 40 and hyaluronic acid that moisturizes all day. For a more comprehensive result, try Klair's Mochi BB-Cushion, a wonderfully moisturizing BB-cushion that gives a silky matte finish and has a sun protection factor of 40. This is also available as a refill!

For a slightly more sun-kissed look, it is great to mix klairs illuminating blemish cream with a bronzing gel, another tanning cream, a darker foundation or bb-cream. An advantage is if the darker gel you mix with also has spf, especially now in the summer! For a nice highlight effect, dab gently on only klairs illuminating blemish cream on the nose bones, over the cheekbones, the cupid's boat and high up on the chin.
6. Strengthen the skin barrier
A product that both soothes and cools tanned skin and at the same time strengthens it and prevents pigment spots is klairs midnight calming blue cream. It acts as a thin, protective layer and increases cell renewal in the skin, even when you have it under makeup. It contains guajazulene, an herbal component, which is extracted from chamomile oil and which acts soothing and repairing on the skin, builds up damaged skin and provides relief. It also contains, the very popular ingredient in Korea, centella asiatica which facilitates cell renewal and prevents scarring and hyperpigmentation.
