Glass skin
A big trend in Korea is so-called glass skin, ie glass skin (in other words skin that is free of pores and pigmentation with an even shine and as clear as a glass)!
How do you get to this then? Important is moisture, moisture, moisture and to help cell renewal along the way.
Step 1. Double wash
The double wash consists of 1. Oil wash and 2. Water-based wash
The oil wash removes all oil-based dirt such as makeup and exhaust fumes and also washes away excess oil from the skin. At the same time, the oil pulls impurities out of the pores. This in turn prevents larger pores because the oil also moisturizes which results in the skin not having to produce much oil (which in turn can cause larger pores). Klairs Deep Cleansing Oil works great for the first part of the double wash. After rinsing it off, start with your water-based wash (foam or gel). Many Korean women do not use a towel to dry their face after washing, but let it dry itself by patting their palms against their face. This is to save all the moisture to the skin.
Step 2. Exfoliate.
Use a mild exfoliant that helps cell renewal and evens out skin tone and prepares for all subsequent products to be absorbed by the skin to the maximum. I recommend By Wishtrend Mandelic Acid 5% Prep Water which is either bathed in with the hands or (for maximum exfoliating effect) poured on a cotton pad and pulled over the face.
Step 3. 7-skin method.
I have written about it before and continue to highly recommend it to anyone who needs an extra boost of moisture and luster and wants to get a really soft and plump skin. Here I recommend Klairs Supple Preparation Facial Toner.
Pour a few drops on a cotton swab and wipe your face
Pour a few drops into the palm of your hand and work up a heat by pulling your palms towards each other, massaging and then patting the toner all over your face. Wait 2 minutes and repeat 7 times.
Step 4. Essence
To further moisturize and even even out the skin tone, we recommend Dr. Ceuracle Tea Tree Purifine 95 Essence. This wonderful essence contains no water but instead trehalose which binds moisture more effectively (up to 96 h). Because it is thin in texture, it is better absorbed and absorbed more effectively by the skin than a thicker cream.
Step 5. Sheetmask
To boost the effect of all of the above, use a moisturizing sheet mask that evens out the skin tone 1-3 times / week.
Step 6 Moisturizer.
Use a moisturizing cream that locks in moisture and nourishment in the skin. Klairs Midnight Blue Calming Cream does this and also prevents scars and pigmentation from appearing.
