Chooseserum according to your skin condition

Serum, ampoule or booster? It has many names!

A serum is less molecular and can thus penetrate further into the skin, it often contains a higher concentration of the ingredients in the product.

There are a variety of different types of serum ranging from slightly more active to milder variants and generally when choosing a serum you usually go by your current skin condition. Skin condition is not the same as skin type but can change according to external factors such as climate but also hormonal changes, stress and lifestyle and it is then good to adapt your skin care routine according to the condition your skin is in in order to achieve a better balance. Some common skin conditions you may experience include sensitive, dry skin, acne.

When the weather changes, it is common to feel more dry and it can then be good to review your routine so that you adapt it according to the needs you currently have – you may need to add a little more moisture and nourishment in your current routine. If the skin is in need of more moisture, you can look for ingredients such as hyaluronic acid, glycerin, squalane or repairing ceramides.

Some moisturizing serums are:

Klairs fundamental watery oil drop which contains moisturizing ingredients such as glycerin, hyaluronic acid and ceramides. The serum has a high moisturizing capacity and is rich in antioxidants such as green tea which help protect the skin against free radicals and contribute to a nice glow.

Cle serumide is a completely vegan serum that has a richer texture and contains 4% ceramides that nourish and repair the skin. The serum contains several essential oils which, among other things, contribute to the product's scent of rosemary and eucalyptus. Other moisturizing ingredients are squalane and hyaluronic acid.

Cosrx Hydrium Triplex hyaluronic moisture ampoule which has a richer gel texture and contains, among other things, 3 different types of hyaluronic acid that help bind the moisture in the skin. The serum also contains mild PHA acid which exfoliates easily along with its moisturizing properties.

Now that we are transitioning from autumn to winter, the skin can be perceived as a little sensitive due to, for example, the cold, which can result in the barrier being a little extra strained. Then it's good to look for ingredients that soothe and strengthen in addition to moisturizing properties. Some soothing ingredients include centella asiatica, aloe vera, beta glucan and vitamin k.

Dr. Ceuracle Liposome oil ampoule is a soothing and strengthening serum that is suitable when you feel that the skin is a little irritated by the changes in weather. The serum consists of two layers of water and oil but has a light texture that is quickly absorbed into the skin. The main ingredient is vitamin K, which is a vessel-strengthening ingredient, which is suitable for a more reactive skin as there may also be superficial blood vessels.

Cosrx Full fit propolis light ampoule which is a nurturing and soothing serum. As the name suggests, the serum contains propolis, which is antibacterial, soothing and brightening. Propolis is a commonly used ingredient in Korean skin care and is found in many different types of products.

Cosrx Hydrium centella aqua soothing ampull is a soothing light serum that is quickly absorbed into the skin and reduces inflammation. Contains extracts from Centella Asiatica and Madecassoside make up 42% of this ampoule and together they soothe sensitive skin and irritated skin.

In addition to adapting the serum to your skin condition, it is also good to review the remaining products in the routine according to the season you are in. In general, the skin often needs a little more nourishing and caring products when the colder air moves in and it can then be good to end the routine and lock in previous moisture with a slightly richer cream.

If you feel unsure about which serum or other products are suitable for your particular needs, we will be happy to help you with this.
